The Forum @ Greenwich supports community development in East Greenwich, providing a range of services as well as space for local groups to rent. The brief called for a link between the neighbouring ‘community building’ and the Forum, as well as additional flexible office space. Analysis of the existing building showed that one wing could not be effectively upgraded to the Forum’s standards, and we have therefore obtained planning permission for a new extension to replace it, increasing the available floor space and making it accessible to all. A glazed link between the two buildings contains a gentle ramp forming the main circulation route.

Other projects carried out within the community building include alterations to the existing office space and toilets (completed 2003), and a feasibility study for a new flexible performance space to be built within the existing hall.
