Mushkil Aasaan is an organisation run by and for Asian women, providing a range of social care services. They required an additional storey to their existing building, together with the refurbishment of the two existing floors, in order to accommodate conference and training facilities, offices and a new children's therapy and assessment centre.

The new second floor was developed as a lightweight, framed structure, with the load carried by the external walls and new steel columns inserted internally at ground and first floor. The children's centre is located at second floor level, organised around an external courtyard which provides playspace and natural light. The rear of the building was to be extended to create a new stair and lift core. Colourful panelling and vitrified porcelain mosaic tiling was proposed to reflect the client's heritage, within the context of vibrant environment of Upper Tooting Road.
