The brief was for the incorporation of a ground floor flat within the main house above, and creation of a new kitchen and dining space, with a new shower and utility room at the rear.
Works included the removal of load-bearing walls between the main house and existing rear extension, and the formation of a trapezoidal glass extension to connect the two, with sliding-folding doors to the garden. The spine wall of the house was also removed, and new engineered oak flooring throughout helped to create a sense of a unified open space, spanning from front to back of the house. The kitchen, designed by AAB architects and constructed by the main contractor, combines painted timber doors with a Corian worktop.
