The owners of this maisonette wished to extend their kitchen, add an extra bedroom, and improve access to the garden.

The existing rear extension was rebuilt with a larger footprint and additional storey, using bricks to match the original London stock. The dining aera was formed by infilling the space between the extension and the adjoining property, with a skylight above the dining table. Alterations were made to the living room to create an entrance area with storage, screened from the main living room.

The dining room extension is of lightweight timber construction, with doors, windows and cladding in Douglas Fir. A ventilation panel provides secure and controlled ventilation.
