This project involved the complete refurbishment of the lower ground floor of a listed terraced house in Camden, including the tanking of brick vaults to create a wine cellar. The objective was to insert a modern kitchen and utility room into the building, whilst maintaining and repairing the original early- 19th century fabric. Works included repair and relaying of the original elm floorboards, repairs to rotten floor joists and provision of underfloor ventilation to safeguard against future rot.

The kitchen was designed by AAB architects and made by a specialist joiner. Materials selected with the client are American white oak, lacquered MDF and stainless steel, with honed black granite for work surfaces.
