At AAB architects our practice ethos stems from the following values:
01 Low Impact & Retrofit – Through our practice we aim to do all we can to address the climate and nature crisis. We aspire to provide affordable, durable, low-carbon buildings to meet people’s needs, whilst minimising carbon dioxide emissions and resource use. We prioritise re-use, repair and conservation where possible, and upgrade thermal performance to reduce energy in use. We support residents to repair and upgrade their homes and avoid the unnecessary disruption of housing estate demolition.
02 Conservation & Care – Our conservation practice is concerned with extending the useful life of all buildings and care for nature. Our interest and continual research into the evolution of buildings and places feeds into an on- going pool of knowledge that actively contributes to our architectural design and practice.
03 Community & Social Engagement – Through working closely with charities, community groups, local authorities and schools, AAB are primarily focused on creating better places and buildings for our communities, engaging with real issues that have positive social, economic and cultural value.
We enjoy positive working relationships with clients, consultants and contractors, in order to achieve the best quality for all budgets. Our projects range widely in scale, but all share a sensitive response to context and need.
