Many estates don’t need to be demolished to provide good quality homes that are safe, warm and comfortable. They can be repaired, refurbished and retrofitted. However, alterations and retrofitting are often not considered by landlords, who may have other intentions.
The guidance is intended to help residents make the case for repair and retrofitting, to ensure that this is considered before decisions about demolition are made.
